kidsneedfuture e.V. verändert Leben – nachhaltig und direkt. Durch gezielte Bildungsförderung und die enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Karai Children’s Vocational Center schafft der Verein Chancen für Kinder, die sonst kaum welche hätten.
So entsteht echte Wirkung vor Ort: Kinder erhalten nicht nur Zugang zu Bildung, sondern Perspektiven für ein selbstbestimmtes Leben.
Die Geschichte von Barbra
My name is Barbra Njeri and I'm currently an employee at a government organization here in Kenya. I grew up in Karai Vocational Children's Centre since my parents had passed away at a young age and no one in the family had the capacity to look after me, basically the home was the source of hope for me. My journey has been shaped by various experiences and the most significant and unique one is that of the generous sponsorship I received in K.C.V.C both in high school and college through the kidsneedfuture education fund.
I went to a county boarding high school for girls here in Kenya which yearly tuition fee would account for Ksh, 60,000 and K.C.V.C sponsorship provided this plus upkeep money without fail for the four years I was at this school At the end I managed to score a B grade at my O levels, which was good enough for college entry.
When I transitioned to University, that is, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology ( Jkuat) to pursue BSc. In Project Management, the K.C.V.C continued to support me financially catering for my tuition fee, rent for a studio I was living at and food. This went on ceremoniously for the four years I was at Jkuat and at the end of the four years I managed to achieve a second class honours upper division.
The generous Support I received from K.C.V.C through kidsneedfuture has enabled me to change my story from that of a poor orphaned girl with no future to behold or of nothing admirable to that of success and achieving dreams to me and to my family.
I'm deeply grateful to K.C.V.C for having believed in me and invested in my future. Their support not only made my educational journey possible but also equipped me with tools and confidence to pursue my dreams and believe that there are truly good people out there who are ready to support just but a little helpless child out there. I wish for many more children to be given the same chance to create and pursue their life dreams.
